KINGSTON, Jamaica – Eroy toting top weight of 126 lb and allowing lumps of weight to his local three-year-old counterparts, did more than enough to win the ninth race on the Saturday card at Caymanas Park just moments ago.

The start of the one-mile contest for three-year-olds non winners of four and imported horses non-winners of three was marred by the early fall of jockey Dick Cardenas from the 3-2 favourite Another Affair. The obligatory stewards’ inquiry took place but there was no change to the placings.

Eroy with Omar Walker in the saddle played the waiting game as stablemate Voytek set the fractions.

Walker pushed Eroy ahead with 3 ½ furlongs left in the race and despite a persistent challenge from King Arthur (Anthony Thomas), in the straight, Eroy was strong, winning by 1 ½ lengths in a good time of 1:37.0.

King Arthur was second and Fearless Champion third.
