KINGSTON, Jamaica - The first race of nine on Saturday, May 18, 2024, is a three-year-old maiden offering going 7 ½ furlongs.
Nine are entered with The Quick Galloper’s assessment follows below.
- IMMEASURABLE JOY is an imported in-utero bay filly (April 23) by War Correspondent out of Moon Over Mallorca, trained by Anthony Nunes with Raddesh Roman riding. Lost by 3 ¾ lengths 14 days ago, finishing second behind Rosetta at six furlongs. In that event, Immeasurable Joy was noticed losing ground in the final furlong, thereby making 7 ½ furlongs potentially testy for this filly. Yet, the opposition is not of much significance and with Raddesh Roman in the saddle, Immeasurable Joy is primed to get off the mark.
- DESIGN DIVA is a bay filly (May 31) by Savoy Stomp out of Tashara, trained by Anthony Dixon with Shane Richardson in the irons. Needs to learn a lot more before can be considered.
- QUEEN VANUA is a bay filly (April 8) by Savoy Stomp out of Trinket Box, trained by Oneil Markland with Oneil Mullings aboard. Note that Queen Vanua races with first time Lasix. In her two starts to date, Queen Vanua is yet to make an impression.
- SOLACE is a chestnut filly (May 5) by Hedge Fund out of I Have A Dream, trained by Barrington Bernard with Youville Pinnock in the saddle. Did well in her second outing (May 4) to finish fourth, nine ninth behind Rosetta and six lengths adrift of Immeasurable Joy. With normal improvement, Solace has a reasonable chance of winning.
- RUBY’S LIGHT is a bay filly (May 19) by Casual Trick out of Outrageous, trained by Gary Griffiths with Jerome Innis aboard. Still trying to come to terms with competitive racing. Note that Ruby’s Light races with the tongue tie on.
- PRINCESS FIANIE is a bay filly (January 15) by Soul Warrior out of Ship Sham, trained by Rudolph Hardial with Tevin Foster holding the reins. Note that Princess Fianie races with the tongue tie on. Has been steadily gaining experience in her two starts to date. Princess Fianie goes longer than six furlongs for the first time. She is racing against moderate rivals and will have a say in the outcome. Note that Princess FIanie races with the tongue tie on.
- HAVAJOY is a chestnut filly (April 12) by Legal Process out of Lady Tarkari, trained by Donovan Thompson with Rudolph Paige riding. Needs a lot of time.
- KAYLYN MELODY is a bay filly (May 19) by Casual Trick out of Darlin, training by Robert Pearson with Robert Halledeen aboard. Note that Kaylyn Melody races with the visor off and the blinkers on. This filly has earned her chops in her six starts, with several efforts at seven furlongs and one at 7 ½ furlongs. Having compiled that familiarity with the distance at hand, Kaylyn Melody has every chance of success.
- VALLEY OF LOVE is a bay filly (March 30) by Spieth out of May Flower, trained by Phillip Elliott with Roger Hewitt in the saddle. Has been developing well, and will get to the winning post in front soon.
