KINGSTON, Jamaica - The ninth race on Saturday, July 13, 2024, is the Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame Stakes Trophy, a three-year-old and up Grade One Stakes event going six furlongs.

Six of the top horses in training are entered with The Quick Galloper’s assessment published below in draw order.

1 - SHE’S MY FRIEND merely fills space for his more accomplished stablemates.

2 - MADELYN’S SUNSHINE returns from a break of 112 days, having last raced on March 23. This mare is known for her speed and will set the early but is not expected to last very long.

3 - SENSATIONAL MOVE is at his best over the straight course. Travelled 5 ½ furlongs on June 22, when he finished fourth 9 ½ lengths behind winner I Am Fred, Is That A Fact, and Mahogany. That finish provides enough evidence to give Sensational Move an outsider’s chance of winning this trophy event.

4 - I AM FRED after a long break returned for his first race in 2024 and finished second by a head to Ability. I Am Fred then faced the starter on June 22, and once again demonstrated his supreme class with a gate-to-wire run (5 ½ furlongs), beating Is That A Fact, and Mahogany. Despite going up in the weights from 119 lbs. to 126 lbs., and giving away weight to his five rivals, I Am Fred will be difficult to beat.

5 - IS THAT A FACT has raced seven times in 2024, winning three, and finishing second in the other four. This foreigner is comfortable over any distance but will have to play second fiddle again to I Am Fred.

6 - JORDON REIGN’S returned to competitive racing after a long absence with a bang on May 19, and duly obliged (5 furlongs straight) at the Overnight level. There is no doubt that Jordon Reign’s is a talented gelding, and he can be effective going six furlongs. He will be close at the finish.
