KINGSTON, Jamaica – After a career spanning 11 years, Hover Craft at age 13 has been officially retired from the track.

Confirmation of the retirement of the 13-bay gelding came from his trainer Jason DaCosta.

“Hover Craft over many years has brought a lot of joy for the stables. He is as tough as nails, giving us no problems at all, and he has paid his way several times over.

“The time has now come for him (Hover Craft) to enjoy the rest of his life in peace and quiet, so we have decided to retire him at the Caymanas Estates,” DaCosta told this website.

Hover Craft last raced on January 2 at the Overnight Allowance level. In total he faced the starter 153 times, finding the winning the post in front on 22 occasions. In addition, Hover Craft racked up, 17 second place finishes and 30 third place runs.

Hover Craft earned $22, 400, 000 in his long and fruitful career.
