KINGSTON, Jamaica - The eighth and nine races on the Saturday card of June 29, 2024, is the Hubert Bartley Memorial Trophy.
This trophy event is for three-year-olds and up horses at the Overnight Allowance going seven furlongs.
Known affectionately as “Chinna”, Bartley wore the crown of champion jockey on three occasions in 1983, 1986, and 1991.
The always popular Bartley tallied 751 victories during his career, inclusive of four wins in the Jamaica 1000 Guineas, two in the Jamaica Derby, and six in the Jamaica St Leger.
In addition, Bartley rode a number of Grade One winners including the three-year-old Governor’s Cup.
He is also a Hall of Fame inductee.
