KINGSTON, Jamaica – Another hat was thrown into an enlarged Classic ring moments ago in the fifth race of nine at Caymanas Park.
Racing for the first time, Green Gold Rush a three-year-old bay colt by Adore The Gold – Princess Lorna by Law of the Sea trained by Adin “Dreaddie” Williams and ridden by Linton Steadman put down a real eye catching performance.
Green Gold Rush won a Maiden Condition race for three-year-olds run over six-and-a-half furlongs in a spanking clocking of 1:19.1.
When the starter pressed the button to open the gates, Green Gold Rush was well out but Steadman kept the debutante away from the leaders which included Primal Fear (Shane Ellis – 13-1) and Cold Pursuit (Abigail Able – 4-1).
Green Gold Rush experienced traffic issues after three furlongs but Steadman was able to navigate without any issue.
With two-and-a-half furlongs left in the race, Primal Fear took over with Diamond League (Omar Walker – 7-2) lurking dangerously.
In the straight with Cold Pursuit going miles wide, Green Gold Rush spurted to the lead and went further and further away winning by 6 ½ lengths when the winning post arrived.
