KINGSTON, Jamaica - The Gary Subratie-trained, Raddesh Roman-ridden Sensational Move earned his seventh win from 19 starts when he demolished opponents at the Overnight Level, coming down the five-straight chute on Saturday, September 7, 2024.

Sensational Move clocked a zippy 57.2 seconds for the distance, with fast splits of 22.0 x 45.0. The four-year-old chestnut colt had four lengths to spare over second-placed Freedom Street (Arnaldo Bocachica).  Taurus Boy (Richard Henry) finished third.

“Sensational Move is a talented horse, who has been plagued with issues during his career, especially at three.

“He came out of Saturday’s race fairly well, but we have to closely monitor him. Sensational Move is not one to race quickly, we have to give him time to recover.

“Sensational Move is best at sprinting, so the vast majority of his races in the future will be at the sprinting distances. Yet, I am going to prepare him for the seven-furlong Gold Cup in late October,” Subratie told this website.

Sensational Move left his starting position in good order, swiftly claiming the early lead. He set the pace, with Chocomo (Robert Halledeen), Generational (Paul Francis), and A Gift From Ben (Shane Richardson) hot on his heels.

As the field approached the dummy rails, Sensational Move remained in control with his rivals struggling to keep pace. It was when he hit the main track for the final two furlongs , that he went into top gear.

This acceleration allowed Sensational Move to power home without any fuss.

In his 19 career starts, Sensational Move has earned just over $6 million.
