KINGSTON, Jamaica – The fifth race on Saturday, February 10, 2024, is a three- and four-year-old non-winners of four for locally bred horses and also for imported three-year-old and upwards non-winners of three at five furlongs straight.
Six horses, all locals are entered, to contest this event.
The Quick Galloper’s take on the outcome is provided below.
1 – SECRET ADMIRAL: This chestnut colt is a non-winner two racing against non-three horses. Plus, the distance of five furlongs straight is way too short for Secret Admiral.
2 – LEGIT BOSS: Last raced over the five-straight course on November 25, 2023, when finishing tenth way behind Burlap and Volatility. Since then, Legit Boss has won going 5 1/2 furlongs, then fourth over the same distance, with Milos, Acknowledgeme, and Money Market ahead.
3 – MONEY MARKET: Left in fairly good nick when last at the races on January 6. This lightly raced bay colt (seven starts), is well-prepared for this outing, and is the likely favourite to win this one.
4 – REJECTED RAJA: Consistent colt, who has acquitted himself well at this level. Will have to wait a bit more. Note, Rejected Raja races with the visor on.
5 – VOLATILITY: Races against non-four for the second occasion. Yet, Volatility’s last win on January 1 was over the straight course, winning in a good time of 59.0 seconds. That effort alone is sufficient to produce win number four.
6 – NORBLAR: This bay colt is the epitome of consistency but has not raced over the straight course in his last ten outings. Yet, Norblar is in such good form, that he will be difficult to beat. Plus he will be comfortable drawn on the outside. Note, that Norblar races with the figure eight on.
