KINGSTON, Jamaica - The fourth race on Saturday, November 9, 2024, is a two-year-old maiden special weight call going six furlongs.
Ten juveniles are entered to compete with The Quick Galloper’s assessment provided below in post-position order.
- HAZELNUT is a chestnut colt (March 16) by Soul Warrior out of Money Magnet, trained by Richard Azan with Dane Dawkins as the designated rider. Caught the eyes of onlookers on debut (October 26), running on to finish third behind Mighty Gully and Ideal Winna at four and a half furlongs. Hazelnut will enjoy the additional ground to cover. Hazelnut has been moving well at exercise and will have a big say in the outcome.
- IDEAL WINNA is a bay colt (May 18) by Spieth out of Winesha, trained by Dalton Sirjue with Tevin Foster in the saddle. Finished second on debut (Oct 26), 2 ¾ length adrift of winner Mighty Gully. Now going a furlong and a half longer, Ideal Winna is poised to get off the mark.
- PEAS HEAD is a bay colt (March 8) by Natural Selection out of Cowgirl Spirit, trained by Everal Francis with Phillip Parchment riding. Reports from mornings exercise suggest that Peas Head has been well, and is touted to win soon, but not on Saturday.
- ROARING KITTY is a bay filly (January 28) by Casual Trick out of Salty Talk, trained by Ian Parsard with Raddesh Roman aboard. Roaring Kitty is a half sister to 2024 Derby winner, Crown Chaser. Said to be progressing in the mornings with the connections expecting a favourable first effort.
- KIMUCHI is a bay filly (January 28) by Conquest Cherimash out of Hurricane Michelle, trained by Ryan Darby with Youville Pinnock the jockey on board. Was part of the mix in the October 26 race won by Mighty Gully. Then Kimuchi ended in fourth place, and with two of her conquerors in this contest, reversing the placings in going to be difficulty.
- STRONG MIND is a bay colt (March 24) by Casual Trick out of Charming Beauty, trained by Patrick Lynch with Samantha Fletcher riding. Note that Strong Mind races with the figure eight on. The learning curve continues for this colt.
- PRINCE KAZAIRE is a dark bay colt (May 5) by Sensational Slam out of Maggie’s Way, trained by Donovan Thompsom with Oneil Mullings holding the reins. Making his debut, not ready as yet.
- SIMPLY ENCHANTING is a chestnut filly (March 24) by Soul Warrior out of My Elle Belle, trained by Oral Hayden with Dick Cardenas aboard. Despite two runs under her belt, Simply Enchanting is still to show anything of worth. That trend is going to continue.
- MINEOLA is a bay filly (March 5) by Casual Trick out of Sweet Trail, trained by Jason DaCosta with Reyan Lewis in the saddle. Moving sweetly at exercise, this well-bred filly is highly thought of by onlookers, who are suggesting a capital effort on debut.
- BEAUTIFUL SUNSET is a chestnut filly (April 26) by Northern Giant out of Excellence, trained by Jason DaCosta with Victor Sanchez riding. Ran on with vigour at five furlongs round on October 19, to finish second, a half a length behind winner Danka. Now with the extension of one-furlong, Beautiful Sunset is primed for a winning effort.
