KINGSTON, Jamaica - The event is for three-year-olds and horses up at the non-winners four-level, going seven furlongs.
Six will face the starter with The Quick Galloper’s analysis provided below in draw order.
1 - SUPER ALEX made his debut in non-four on July 8, finishing an encouraging second, 4 ½ lengths behind Major Danger over the same distance of Saturday’s encounter. Super Alex is ripe for this despite going up five pounds in the handicaps. Cannot be denied a more than reasonable chance of winning.
2 - ALLEGIANCE did well in the 2000 Guineas (June 2) with a fourth place, a mere five lengths behind winner California Crown. Then On July 7, in the 10-furlong, Allegiance was completely off the boil - 20; lengths adrift of Intrestntimesahead. This Saturday, Allegiance returns to more solid ground, yet he is a non-three racing against foreigners in a non-four contest of which three are foreigners. Allegiance has it all to do.
3 - GRECIAN LIGHT has a race record of two wins from eight starts. She become somewhat of a specialist at seven furlongs, as Grecian Light has raced over the distance above five of his eight runs. Did not excite on last (June 22), sixth way behind the winner. Grecian Light has to be respected.
4 - EL RAPIDO made a winning start to his career with a 1 ¾ length win over Motivate Me Baby coming down the five straight course. This foreign-bred colt in his winning effort demonstrated speed, and the ability to fight. El Rapido has been thriving in the mornings, building his stock, and with the improvement expected, he has a great opportunity to make two from two.
5 - O SO SMART has been slowly coming to grips with the vigours of the non-four category. Would probably be better off with a reduced trip, but packs enough class to be effective. Cannot be ruled out.
6 - RICHES TO RAGS has not done enough to suggest that she can handle these.
