KINGSTON, Jamaica – The sixth event out of ten on Saturday, August 19, 2023, features Division One of a three-year-old maiden race at seven furlongs.
Eleven horses are set to compete, with the condition that they have not previously finished second or third.
The Quick Galloper provides an assessment of the likely outcome below.
1 – GOLDEN LOYALTY, a chestnut colt by Western Warrior out of Sunscape, is trained by Paul Swaby with jockey Javaniel Patterson. Note that Golden Loyalty races without blinkers. Steadily improving, this race offers him the opportunity to better his fourth-place finish on July 29. He stands a good chance of placing and should be considered for exacta and quinella bets.
2 – SKYRIZI is a chestnut colt by Tapilu out of Who's Bossy, trained by Donovan Plummer with Andree Powell riding. After placing second 28 days ago over five furlongs straight, Skyrizi is an outsider for the win. To succeed, he must show significant improvement but is worth considering in exotics.
3 – LITTLE MISS NISHA, a chestnut filly by Traditional out of Simply Classic, is still learning her trade under trainer Winston Morris. Jockey Ramon Nepare has the ride.
4 – CASUAL TREASURE is a bay filly by Casual Trick out of Peace By Peace. Despite her five starts to date, she has shown no potential for winning. Casual Treasure is trained by Renex Burrell with Chalrick Budhai holding the reins.
5 – ATOMIC ENERGY is a chestnut filly by Patton Proud out of Nuclear Girl trained by Gary Subratie with Dane Dawkins riding. In her ten races thus far, her best result was fourth place on August 12. No change is expected in this race.
6 – THE BEES KNEES, a bay filly by Savoy Stomp out of Awesome Sauce, has improved with trainer Richard Azan and jockey Shavon Townsend. After placing third going 5 ½ furlongs, this race offers her best chance for a win.
7 – SWEET VICTORY, a grey filly by Spieth out of Bitter End, needs more time to develop under trainer Howard Jaghai. The jockey is Phillip Parchment.
8 – TOKILLAMOCKINGBIRD is a bay colt by Lion Tamer out of Newton's First Law, trained by Marlon Anderson with Bebeto Harvey riding. He lost his last race on July 25 due to unruly behavior in the starting gate. If he runs well-behaved on Saturday, he could place.
9 – MO AVIATOR is a bay colt by Northern Giant out of Black Magic trained by Jason DaCosta with Reyan Lewis riding. In his three starts, his best result was third place (6 ½ furlongs). Improvement is expected but not enough for a win.
10 – PRINCESS AKILAH is a bay filly by Nasheet out of Princess Lorna. Trained by Anthony Nunes with Youville Pinnock riding, she still has much progress to make based on past form.
11 – COALITION, a chestnut colt by Wicked Strong out of Misunify, is trained by Dale Murphy with Raddesh Roman riding. Coalition, half-brother to Grade One runner Runaway Algo, showed improvement in each of his three career starts. Racing over seven furlongs before and carrying top weight, Coalition is expected to secure his first win.
