The second of eight races on the Saturday programme, January 17, 2026, is a maiden special weight for three-year-old fillies over six furlongs.
A field of six has been declared, with The Quick Galloper offering its assessment of the likely outcome in draw order.
1 – GIVING THANKS
Giving Thanks, a bay filly (January 18) by Bern Identity out of Lightning Lily, is trained by Philip Feanny with Tevin Foster aboard. On debut, December 21, 2025, she finished 2 ¼ lengths behind Taylor Made at five furlongs round after a poor start but closed strongly. Now improved, with the tongue tie removed and Lasix added, Giving Thanks looks set to break through.
2 – MISS VERONICA
Miss Veronica, a bay filly (March 13) by Savoy Stomp out of Carolina Trist, is trained by Ricardo Brown with Rudolph Paige in the saddle. She makes her first start here. Though her morning drills have been fair, she appears short of readiness at this stage.
3 – LEXI LOU
Lexi Lou, a bay filly (June 3) by Aveenu Malcainu out of Herroyalhighness, is trained by Gary Subratie with Dane Dawkins riding. Her debut effort offered little encouragement, and she will need marked improvement to feature. Lexi Lou races with the tongue tie fitted.
4 – MS PROSECUTOR
Ms Prosecutor, a bay filly (April 17) by Aveenu Malcainu out of Supreme Magic, is trained by Everal Francis with Demar Williams holding the reins. Reports from exercise suggest promise, and she is expected to give a respectable account first time out.
5 – ANOTHER QUALITY
Another Quality, a chestnut filly (May 8) by Sensational Slam out of Naturally Mystically, is trained by Oral Hayden with Raddesh Roman up. The most experienced of the group with three runs, she was third behind Stardom and narrowly behind Another Wow last time. Improvement is needed, and she may have to wait for her turn.
6 – ANOTHER WOW
Another Wow, a bay filly (April 10) by Casual Trick out of Sarah Barracuda, is trained by Anthony Nunes with Reyan Lewis aboard. On debut, December 27, she finished second after a slow break, closing well in the stretch. With that run under her belt, she must be taken seriously.
THE QUICK GALLOPER’S VERDICT
Giving Thanks, with her encouraging debut and equipment changes, is tipped to open her account. Another Wow, having shown late strength first time out, is the main danger. Ms Prosecutor could surprise with a solid first effort, while the remainder appear some way off the mark.
