KINGSTON, Jamaica - In a performance that solidified her growing stature, Geolithic showcased her speed and stamina, clinching the Bonnie Blue Flag Trophy at Caymanas Park on Sunday, January 26, 2025.
Under the guidance of conditioner Peter-John Parsard, the five-year-old American-bred bay mare excelled in an Overnight Allowance race, designed for three-year-olds and older, covering a distance of seven and a half furlongs. Geolithic clocked 1:34.0 seconds for the distance contested.
Ridden by Panamanian jockey Ismael Velasquez, Geolithic quickly surged out of the gates, seizing the lead right from the start and maintaining it throughout the race. Challengers including She’s A Godgift (Javaniel Patterson), Eazy Peazy (Demar Williams), and Awesome Anthony (Raddesh Roman) attempted to close the gap, but Geolithic’s pace and control by Velasquez allowed her to stay comfortably ahead.
As she approached the half-mile (800m) mark, Geolithic extended her advantage and turned for home with a commanding lead, poised for a strong finish. Despite exhibiting signs of fatigue in the closing stages, she successfully held off the competition, with She’s A Godgift finishing strong to claim second place, followed by Super Alex (Dick Cardenas) in third.
