KINGSTON, Jamaica - Eight three-year-olds face off in a maiden event at five furlongs straight.
The Quick Galloper analysis is provided below.
- LIL’ MAGGIE is a bay filly (born May 5) by Legal Progress out of Maggie’s Way. She is trained by Donovan Thompson, with Andree Powell aboard. Please note that she is not eligible in the official racebook.
- BIG POP is a chestnut colt (born April 13) by Bold Conquest out of Girl Talk. He is trained by Jason DaCosta, with Abigail Able holding the reins. Big Pop races with the tongue tie-off. He returns following an underwhelming debut on April 28. However, he has been moving smoothly in the mornings, and a place on the board is considered his best option.
- DI MIRACLE ANGEL is a chestnut filly (born January 4) by Berlino Di Tiger out of Myangel, trained by Robert Pearson, with Tevin Foster riding. This will be her fifth race, with her previous two third-place finishes showing that Di Miracle Angel is coming into form. Her previous two third-place finishes were achieved over the straight, giving her a better chance of winning. The presence of leading rider Tevin Foster in the saddle, instead of Josue Osorio, will also aid Di Miracle Angel's winning effort.
- PAPPIE DON is a bay colt (born January 20) by Sensational Slam out of Sparkling Michaela. He is trained by Lennis Shim, with Roger Hewitt in the saddle. Note that Pappie Don races with the blinkers on. It is difficult to see Pappie Don winning this one.
- GELROY is a chestnut colt (born May 11) by Hedge Fund out of Crème De La. He is trained by Wilfred Chin, with Marshall Porter as the designated jockey. His best finish from four starts is second place, achieved on July 29, coming down the five-straight chute. This presents the best opportunity for Gelroy to get off the mark.
- LINSTEAD MARKET is a chestnut colt (born April 18) by Patton Proud out of Royal Beauty. He is trained by Gary Subratie, with Roderick DaCosta aboard. The best Linstead Market can hope for is a place in the top four.
- SHEER DE JOUR is a bay filly (born March 31) by Force De Jour out of Sheer Madness. She is trained by Alford Brown, with Oshane Nugent riding. Sheer De Jour races with the blinkers on and the tongue tie off. It is clear that she needs much more time to achieve success.
- RADAM is a grey colt (born March 25) by Successful Native out of Lynnie B, trained by Anthony Nunes, with Aaron Chatrie holding the reins. After his fourth-place finish, 12 lengths behind Justin Bigtime, Radam is expected to improve and, against milder opposition, winning is more than a possibility.
- GOLDEN LAWYER is a bay colt (April 16) by Golden Ron out of The Lincoln Lawyer, trained by Patrick Lynch, with Delroy Beharie aboard. Note that Golden Lawyer races with the blinkers on. In his five starts to date, Golden Lawyer has shown nothing worthy of consideration.
