On Saturday, January 11, 2025, Fred The Master made a noteworthy entrance into the local racing world by clinching victory in the Rimsky Trophy. The three-year-old American-bred bay colt, trained by Jason DaCosta, showcased his potential with a performance that hints at a promising future.

Fred The Master hit the track for the 6-furlong race, after some remarkable morning gallops, expectations soared, and the colt did not disappoint. With a burst of speed, Fred The Master left rivals trailing, finishing 5 ¼ lengths ahead of the pack, clocking in at 1:12.3 (23.3 x 48.0 x 1:00.0).

DaCosta was radiant with pride, praising his talented colt. "He was always a talented colt from day one. He has done everything right, and we're keeping our fingers crossed that he continues to improve and stays healthy. He should be a nice horse for the rest of the year,” he remarked. .

The trainer expressed satisfaction not only with the victory but also with the colt's timing. "It was a good time, and I'm happy with it," DaCosta stated. While he is eager to see Fred The Master grow, he emphasized the importance of a patient approach: "We'll take our time and pick a good spot for him. We'll see where he goes from there."

Ridden by Robert Halledeen, Fred The Master started the race in second place, trailing behind Mighty Gully (Abigail Able). However, as the field approached the half-mile turn, Fred The Master held his ground before taking the lead as they neared the finish. From that point on, he maintained his lead effortlessly, securing his victory. Stablemate Girvano (Tevin Foster) came in second, followed by Fearless Mission (Raddesh Roman) in third place.
