KINGSTON, Jamaica – The eighth race on Saturday, March 18, 2023, honours former Derby winner Milligram. This call is for three-year-old native-bred non-winners of two, and a maiden for three-year-old foreigners. The distance is 7 ½ furlongs.

The analysis of the nine horses nominated to race by The Quick Galloper is published below.

- INSPIRE FORCE (USA) is a chestnut colt (April 23) by Union Jackson out of Exotic Design trained by Philip Feanny with Anthony Thomas in the saddle. A highly-rated colt who made his local debut on February 18. Then Inspire Force finished a close third behind Bootylicious and Burlap at 6 furlongs. Inspire Force was finishing well in the final furlong making the extra real estate more to his liking. Morning reports suggest that Inspire Force is fit and proper for this contest.

- ATLANTIC CONVOY (USA) is a chestnut colt (April 29) by Stormy Convoy out of My Sweet Emily trained by Patrick Lynch with Dane Dawkins in the saddle. Finished second on his debut on February 4 over the straight course (1,000m). The presence of the champion jockey will aid his cause, also the extension of the distance. Note, Atlantic Convoy races with first-time Lasix.

– BOASEY is a bay filly (May 17) by Casual Trick out of The Golden One trained by Jason DaCosta with Omar Walker in the saddle. In the wrong place at the wrong time.

- PRETTY CAROLINE (USA) is a bay filly (February 5) by Flintshire out of Caroline Victoria trained by Patrick Lynch with Jerome Innis aboard. Did not do much on her local debut on March 4. Pretty Caroline finished in fifth place behind Milos and Flybluejet over 5 furlongs round. With Flybluejet present again, along with other highly rated runners, Pretty Caroline is going to find it difficult. Note, Pretty Caroline races with first-time Lasix.

- FLYBLUEJET (USA) is a dark bay filly (April 3) by Air Force Blue out of Perfectly Beautiful trained by Philip Feanny with Paul Francis in the saddle. – Has raced three times thus far, finishing second twice and third once. One of Flybluejet’s second-place finishes came after a disqualification from first place. Flybluejet has a chance of redemption. Note, Flybluejet races with the tongue time on, and first-time Lasix.

- SHE’S MYHEDGEFUND is a chestnut filly (March 3) by Hedge Fund out of Thisgirlisonfire trained by Jason DaCosta with Roger Hewitt aboard. Out of her depth.

– ANONYMOUS is a bay colt (April 15) by Lion Tamer out of Eighteen Karat trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster in the saddle. Should have done much better than his third-place finish behind Roulette Boss and Durocell over 7½ furlongs on February 26. Anonymous, with a liking for the long-distance races, is expected to put in a good effort.

- BIG GUY IN THESKY is a bay colt (March 12) by Natural Selection out of Granville Greta trained by Gary Subratie with Kiaman McGregor in the saddle. Made a bold bid when finishing in second place by 3½ lengths to El Afortunado in the Sir Howard Stakes over 6 furlongs on March 12. Big Guy In TheSky, unexpectedly went to the lead in the Sir Howard, but will not be troubled by the increase in the distance. Must be given a good chance of winning.

- SECRET ADMIRAL is a chestnut colt (February 12) by Admiral Alex out of Secret Cat, trained by Carl Anderson with Shane Richardson aboard – Made an exciting and eye-catching, come-from-behind debut win by 5½ lengths on Saturday, February 11, 2023, over 7 furlongs (1,400m). Secret Admiral came from behind runners to win in a time of 1:30.0. With the distance, not a problem Secret Admiral, based on his running style and expected improvement, is going to be in the fray when decision time comes around.
