Foreigners Versus Locals In Sunday’s (June 25) Ninth

THREE YEAR OLDS

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The ninth race of ten on the card of Sunday, June 25, 2023, is three-year-old non-winners of two for local horses, and also for maiden foreigners at five furlongs straight.

Eight horses, inclusive of three overseas visitors, are entered to compete.

The Quick Galloper’s assessment is provided below for readers.

1 – FLYBLUEJET is a dark bay filly (USA April 3) by Air Force Blue out of Perfectly Beautiful, trained by Philip Feanny with Tevin Foster aboard. This foreigner is returning from a break of 85 days. She has been proceeding well in the mornings but will need the run to find her true self. Plus, Flybluejet is drawn at one coming down the straight which is not the best post to have in this encounter. A place on the board is her best bet.

2 - ARIA’S REIGN is a dark brown filly (April 8) by Resurgence out of Nuclear Warning, trained by Steven Todd with Raddesh Roman aboard. Has been very consistent in her five appearances to date. Aria’s Reign will do her best running in the final furlong. After her third-place finish in the recent The Portmore, Aria’s Reign’s represents the best of the local horses in this one.

3 – EAZY PEAZY is a bay colt (February 22) by Casual Trick out of Baby P, trained by Richard Azan with Dane Dawkins aboard. Coming along, not ready as yet.

4 – SPEEDIE HARE is a bay filly (April 10) by Conquest Cherimash out of Honeymoon Bay, trained by Christopher Pearson with Abigail Able in the saddle. Started her career with a winning bang, and since then has failed to live up to expectations. Will not trouble the principals even with such a light weight in her back.

5 – BLINKIN LIGHT is a bay colt (April 12) by Patton Proud out of Storm Girl, trained by Gary Griffiths with Anthony Allen aboard. Note, Blinkin Light races with first-time Lasix. Enters non-winners of two for the first time; needs more time.

6 – SMOOTH AVIATOR is a bay colt (March 22) by Casual Trick out of Classy Aviator, trained by Jason DaCosta with Phillip Parchment in the saddle. Has no realistic chance of winning.

7 – BOX BOX is a chestnut filly (USA March 9) by Shaman Ghost out of Jessica Is Back, trained by Owen Sharpe with Jerome Innis aboard. Yet to show anything of significance in her three starts to date. Will continue her learning curve on local soil.

8 – UNCAPTURED EMPRESS is a chestnut filly (USA April 16) by Uncaptured out of Holyano, trained by Peter McMaster with Ramon Nepare. Highly touted on all her three outings, yet this overseas campaigner has not been able to deliver for her connections. This is Uncaptured Express's best opportunity to get off the mark and has run well over the straight course before, plus receiving a slight pull in the weights, and a favourable draw, she is poised to win her first race.
