KINGSTON, Jamaica – The second race on the ten-race card on Saturday, January 10, 2026, is for locally bred and foreign bred three-year-old maidens going five furlongs round. Seven horses are entered to compete, of which five are USA bred, and two bred locally. The Quick Galloper’s take on the possible outcome is shared below for the benefit of readers.
1 - DASHALLDAY is a three-year-old bay colt (March 16) by Aveenu Malcainu out Runallday, trained by Anthony Nunes with Linton Steadman aboard. Well-bred colt who is making his first appearance. Dashallday has been through his paces in the morning with gallops from three furlongs to five furlongs. Expect a good effort from this newcomer.
2 - EXCEEDING BEYOND is a three-year-old bay colt (USA March 26) by Mitole out of Poetic Kid, trained by Anthony Nunes with Delroy Beharie in the saddle. Another exciting looking foreigner emerging from the Nunes barn. Exceeding Beyond has been working well and should give a good account of himself.
3 – COMUNA TRECE is a three-year-old bay colt (USA May 28) by Maximum Security out of My Anguilla, trained by Oral Hayden with Phillip Parchment the designated rider. From his five starts to date, this US-bred has yet to demonstrate much to convince punters that winning is a possibility.
4 - MULLIGAN MAN is a three-year-old brown colt (USA April 10) by Free Drop Billy out of Jelly Roll, trained by Saqlain Roman with Shane Ellis holding the reins. Mulligan Man, racing for the first time, has caught the eyes of many observers in the mornings. To show his readiness for his debut, Mulligan Man on January 4 galloped 5 ½ furlongs in 1:08.4. Mulligan Man is going to be a defining factor.
5 - HONEY BROWN is a three-year-old bay filly (USA April 15) by Big Brown out of A.P. Hutchy, trained by Michael Marlowe with Omar Simpson at the reins. Going through her paces but does not seem ready for this first assignment.
6 - INFINITY STAR is a bay filly (USA February 13) by Greenpointcrusader out of Batmitzvah, trained by Winchester McIntosh with Roshaune Lewis doing riding duties. Started well on August 23 with a second-place finish behind Fernando. In two subsequent outings, Infinity Star has fallen by the wayside. Hopefully now racing with the visor on, a better run might be in the making.
7 – BLYTHWOOD is a bay colt (February 14) by Wow Wow out of She’s An Introvert, trained by Anthony Nunes with Joy Haynes in the saddle. Even with the tongue tie off, Blythwood will not have an impact in the final outcome.
THE QUICK GALLOPER’S VERDICT
The second race presents a fascinating clash between well-bred debutants and those with prior experience. Mulligan Man has shown strong morning gallops and appears primed to make a bold statement on debut. Dashallday and Exceeding Beyond, both from the powerful Nunes barn, are also expected to feature prominently. Infinity Star, with the visor applied, could improve enough to sneak into the frame. The others, including Comuna Trece, Honey Brown, and Blythwood, seem unlikely to trouble the principals.
