KINGSTON, Jamaica – The eighth race on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Caymanas Park is a three-year-old non-winners of two for locally bred horses, and a maiden for three-year-old foreigners. The distance is the minimum on the round course, five furlongs.
Nine horses have been nominated to race, with The Quick Galloper providing the race analysis below.
– DIGITAL LIGHT is a bay filly (January 14) by Wannabeaplayer out of Morning Grace, trained by Gary Griffiths with Youville Pinnock in the saddle. This filly has been slowly trying to find her footing in non-two. That learning curve continues on Saturday.
– LADY ABHIMALA is a chestnut filly (March 8) by Legal Process out of Lady Abhijita, trained by Rowan Mathie with Paul Francis aboard. Note, Lady Abhimala races with the blinkers on. Lady Abhimala put in a respectable effort in the Oaks, with the distance of ten furlongs providing difficult. She returns to a likeable trip, and with the blinkers on should be one of the deciding factors.
– SHE’S A MIRAGE is a bay filly (March 29) by Casual Trick out of Full Moon’s Enough, trained by Jason DaCosta with Anthony Allen in the saddle. Struggling at this level, with no realistic chance of winning.
– NATURAL DANCER is a bay filly (March 15) by Natural Selection out of Gold Star Dancer, trained by Robert Pearson with Oneil Mullings aboard. Note, Natural Dancer races with the visor on.
– EPIC is a bay filly (March 21) by Casual Trick out of Global, trained by Edward Stanberry with Roger Hewitt in the saddle. Note, Epic races with the figure 8 on.
– KISSMET is a bay filly (March 30) by Adios Charlie out of Holy Cowgirl, trained by Steven Todd with Oneil Scott aboard.
– THE LOVE OF GOD is a chestnut filly (February 22) by Lion Tamer out of The Principal, trained by Lawrence Freemantle with Javaniel Patterson in the saddle.
– RUNNING GLORY is a bay filly (USA April 2) by The Big Beast out of TalentNSpeed, trained by Jason DaCosta with Reyan Lewis aboard.
– JOY IS GOLDEN is a bay filly (USA April 30) by Golden Cents out of Sylvan Light, trained by Patrick Lynch with Ramon Nepare in the saddle.
