KINGSTON, Jamaica – Lone foreigner in the Caymanas Saturday fourth, I Am Fred duly dispatched his six rivals to record back to back wins.
I Am Fred (Phillip Parchment) gained his second success in a three-year-old and upwards call for non-winners of four (local horses) and a non-winners of three for imported horses travelling 7 ½ furlongs.
The 4-5 favourite Hoist The Mast (Omar Walker) and I Am Fred conditioned by Jason DaCosta were the two slowest away when the gates were opened leaving Gentle Giant (Matthew Bennett) to do the honours on the front end.
Parchment quickly got I Am Fred going along the inside rails and after two furlongs started to nibble at the leader followed by Regal and Royal (Anthony Thomas), Action Ann (Chris Mamdeen – chance ride) and Hoist The Mast trying to make up lost ground but looking decidedly uncomfortable in the slop.
I Am Fred took over with three furlongs to go and from then it was a race for second place in the stretch drive. I Am Fred won handsomely by 5 lengths.
Regal and Royal finished second with third going to Awesome Choice (Jerome Innis).
