Foreign Three-Year-Olds To Decide Non-Two On Sat, June 29, 2024

THREE YEAR OLDS THREE

KINGSTON, Jamaica - The fifth race on Saturday, June 29, 2024, is for three-year-old locally bred horses and maiden three-year-olds from abroad, racing at a distance of five furlongs straight.

Here is an assessment of the eight horses entered by The Quick Galloper.

1 - PLAYFAIR is a bay colt (born April 26), sired by Sensational Slam out of I Am The One. Trained by Anthony Nunes with Matthew Bennett riding. Playfair has not performed well in top races for three-year-olds and non-two races, but has previously won over the same distance as Saturday’s event. Expectation is that the trend will continue against this field.

2 - MOTIVATE ME BABY is a chestnut filly (born in the USA on May 12), sired by Union Jackson out of On Board. Trained by Jason DaCosta with Robert Halledeen aboard. Although heavily backed on debut (May 23), Motivate Me Baby finished fourth. Reports indicate improvement, and a better performance is expected in this race.

3 - UNDISCLOSDLOCATION is a bay colt (born February 15), sired by Casual Trick out of Bilingual. Trained by Anthony Nunes with Raddesh Roman riding. He won on debut on March 19, but finished fourth in his first non-two race. Undisclosdlocation is expected to perform well in this event.

4 - FIRST GRANDSON is a bay colt (born February 4), sired by Casual Trick out of Peyton’s Delight. Trained by Patrick Lynch with Josue Osorio riding. First Grandson won on debut over the same distance as Saturday’s event on January 21. He will need to find his best form again after a long break of 160 days. Note that First Grandson races with the blinkers on.

5 - GOODBYE FIREFLY is a bay colt (born in the USA on March 30), sired by Mucho Macho Man out of Shanghai Lady. Trained by Spencer Chung with Reyan Lewis riding. This foreign debutant has shown good form in morning workouts, and many believe he has the quality to win on his first start.

6 - HIT N RUN is a bay filly (born May 9), sired by Sunshine N Shadow out of The Vibes Lady. Trained by Jason DaCosta with Abigail Able aboard. Returning after a 76-day break, Hit N Run won easily in her last race on April 14. She will need a warm-up run but is likely to perform well.

7 - MIDNIGHT FLIGHT is a grey filly (born May 8), sired by Midnight Hawk out of Honeymoon Bay. Trained by Byron Davis with Phillip Parchment riding. Absent from the 1000 Guineas and non-two races, Midnight Flight races over five furlongs straight for the first time and is expected to find success in the future.

8 - EL RAPIDO is a grey colt (born in the USA on April 25), sired by Valiant Minister out of Sunset Silhouette. Trained by Nicholas Wehby with Aaron Chatrie riding. Another foreign debutant, El Rapido is expected to learn from his first race. Reports suggest smooth movement in morning workouts.
