In the 1970s, jockey Fitzroy 'Pumpkin' Glispie and trainer Allan 'Billy' Williams made a name for themselves with numerous big race victories, highlighting their success with Legal Light's win in the Derby.

While Williams has since passed, Glispie remains active in the industry, now working as a trainer.

On Saturday, February 8, 2025, a special feature race commemorated Williams' significant contributions to horse racing. The Allan E 'Billy' Williams Memorial Trophy was contested in an Overnight Allowance race for horses aged three and up, running a distance of seven furlongs.

Among the eight contenders was Get A Pepsi, trained by Glispie and ridden by apprentice jockey Richard Henry. In a thrilling finish, Get A Pepsi emerged victorious, winning by a neck against Supremasi, steered by Tevin Foster.

“This win by Get A Pepsi was highly anticipated, as we had meticulously crafted a plan for this race after he had been off the track for over 50 days,” Glispie shared after accepting the trophy.

As soon as the gates opened, Glispie’s strategy was set into action. In a surprising departure from his typical running style, Get A Pepsi took an early lead and maintained a steady pace throughout the race. The excitement heightened when Supremasi mounted a challenge, but Get A Pepsi and Henry held strong to secure the win in the Billy Williams Memorial Cup.
