KINGSTON, Jamaica - The upcoming race day on Saturday, September 9, 2023, features a three-year-old maiden event spanning 7 ½ furlongs.
This eight race on the card has eleven competitors entered.
The Quick Galloper provides predictions for each horse.
1 – MYSTIX CAT: A bay filly (born March 1) by Silent Valor out of Medical Cat, Mystix Cat is trained by Carl Anderson with jockey Roger Hewitt. Showing improvement but not quite ready yet.
2 – SUPER ALEX: This chestnut colt (born February 23) by Admiral Alex out of Jamaican Pharoah has Carl Anderson as trainer and Bebeto Harvey in the saddle. A good bet for a place on the board.
3 – VELIKI VICKI: A roan filly (born Feb 19), she's the offspring of Bold Conquest and Sweetyourock. Trained by Richardo Mathie and with Oneil Mullings as jockey, Veliki Vicki could earn a spot in this race despite past disappointments. Note, Velki Vicki races with cheek pieces on.
4 – THE BEES KNEES: Born on Jan 26, this bay filly by Savoy Savoy out of Awesome Sauce has Richard Azan as her trainer and Dane Dawkins riding her. She's getting closer to victory and the extra distance will suit her well.
5 – SWEET VICTORY: A grey filly (born Feb 18) by Spieth out of Bitter End, she is trained by Howard Jaghai with Phillip Parchment aboard. Sweet Victory shows promise but is best considered for a place finish at present.
6 – PASSWORD: This chestnut colt (born May 16) by Bold Conquest out of Zacapa is trained by Jason DaCosta with Reyan Lewis in the saddle. After two second-place finishes, his main hurdle will be the longer distance he faces this time as this is the first occasion he will be going long than six furlongs.
7 – ALWAYS WRIGHT: A bay filly (born April 4) by Northern Giant out of Kitty Hawk, she is still learning the ropes under the guidance of trainer Michael Marlowe and jockey Paul Francis.
8 – HERE COMES DOC: Born on March 23, this bay colt by Bern Identity out of Indian Bluff is trained by Gary Griffiths with Nicholas Hibbert riding. His consistent record makes him a prime candidate for success on Saturday.
9 – MR SENATOR: A roan colt (born May 1) by Natural Selection out of Khadilah, Mr Senator is trained by Anthony Nunes with jockey Tevin Foster. After a recent disqualification, he's primed for redemption with the right distance to claim his first official win.
10 – PRINCESS TALISE: This bay filly (born April 17) by Savoy Stomp out of Dancing Queen has trainer Lawrence Freemantle and rider Javaniel Patterson. She tends to perform better over shorter distances.
11 – WATERMAN JOHN: A bay colt (born February 7) by Sensational Slam out of Giacomos Pride, he is trained by Fitzgerald Richards with Raddesh Roman aboard. Showcasing steady progress, Waterman John should be considered a strong contender.
