KINGSTON, Jamaica – The eighth race on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Caymanas Park is a three-year-old maiden contest going 5 ½ furlongs.
In Division One of this event, nine horses are entered, with The Quick Galloper providing the analysis below in post-position order.
1 – THE LOVE OF GOD is a chestnut filly (February 22) by Lion Tamer out of The Principal trained by Lawrence Freemantle with Odeen Edwards aboard. Gets an easier opportunity to win her first race and with some form in her recent outings plus experience, The Love of God cannot be taken out of the reckoning. Note, The Love of God races with the visor on, and the tongue tie off.
2 – ACKNOWLEDGEME is a bay filly (March 26) by Key To Power out of Gentle Officer trained by Michael Thomas with Youville Pinnock in the saddle. Enters the fray as the most experienced of the lot with eight starts to her credit. Has speed and will have to be caught.
3 – DIGITAL LIGHT is a bay filly (January 14) by Wannabeaplayer out of Morning Grace trained by Gary Griffiths with Christopher Mamdeen aboard. Slowly finding her way, with the possibility of hitting the board.
4 – WOW HOW is a bay filly (February 3) by Perfect Curlin out of Sarah Barracuda trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster aboard. Was scheduled to race on February 4, but was subsequently withdrawn. Wow How has been progressing well in the mornings, with a good effort expected from this well-bred filly.
5 – THE BEES KNEES is a bay filly (January 26) by Savoy Stomp out of Awesome Sauce. Cannot be seriously considered at this time.
6 – BELLA SOUL is a bay filly (January 19) by Soul Warrior out of Lady Belridge trained by Gary Subratie with Kiaman McGregor aboard. Coming along and will soon find her place.
7 – SHE’S A MIRAGE is a bay filly (March 29) by Casual Trick out of Full Moon’s Enough trained by Jason DaCosta with Anthony Allen aboard. Will not be a factor in this one. Note, She’s A Mirage races with the visor on.
8 – LION CHARMER is a chestnut filly (March 29) by Lion Tamer out of Charming Beauty trained by Patrick Lynch with Reyan Lewis aboard. The morning clockers are indicating that Lion Tamer is of some worth. The claim is that this chestnut filly must be followed.
9 – FEARLESS REINA is a roan filly (May 5) by Fearless Vision out of Hija De Reina trained by Gary Crawford with Raddesh Roman aboard. Made a noticeable debut eight days ago, when finishing fifth four lengths behind Whizz Kidd. Having stripped fitter, Fearless Reina will give an even better effort.
