KINGSTON, Jamaica – Fighting Cowgirl a three-year-old chestnut filly by Market Rally – Catfight Cowgirl earned her first win from three starts under astute guidance provided by Paul “Country Man” Francis in the Caymanas Sunday third offering.

Fighting Cowgirl was briskly out of the starting gates racing without the visor but Francis allowed Seven Stars (Dane Nelson) to take the lead with JJ Warrior (Roger Hewitt) also in the early mix.

Seven Stars led easily as Fighting Cowgirl drifted further behind after two furlongs were completed.

The order remained the same up to the three when Francis started to get going on the 3-5 favourite.

Fighting Cowgirl and Seven Stars were locked together for the stretch drive with neither giving away anything. Finally, in the last half a furlong Fighting Cowgirl gained the advantage going on to win by 2 ¼ lengths. Seven Stars was second and Ruds D Indian third.
