Facts, Figures: 2023 Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The 2023 Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes will take place on Boxing Day (Tues, Dec 26) at Caymanas Park.

The Quick Galloper has gone through the ten starts in this event and has compiled some fact and figures.

1 – The field of ten starters in the Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes is dominated by the fillies. Of the ten listed starters, eight are fillies. The two lucky colts are number five - Matuso, and and number six – Intrestntimesahead.

2 – None of the ten starters have won more than one race thus far in their careers.

3 – These is one starter who is still a maiden, horse number one – Rosetta.

4 – Two trainers Richard Azan, and Jason DaCosta are responsible for training nine of the ten starters. The odd man out is Ian Parsard, the trainer of number 10 – Run Julie Run.

5 – The horse with the most starts is number three – Lucy In The Sky with five efforts under her belt.

6 – Horse number 10 – Run Julie Run is the top earner entering this year’s Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes, with $1,228,500 in career earnings.

7 – Of the lot of 10, horse number 9 – Ms Cherry is the only one who has raced only once.

8 – The stallion represented by the most starters is Casual Trick, who has three of his offspring in the race. They are Matuso, Fastnfuriouslinks, and Banadura.
