KINGSTON, Jamaica – Despite allowing weight all round Exhilarate turned out to be a rather easy winner of the second race on the mid-week card at Caymanas Park. The event was an Open Allowance call run over five furlongs round.
What was expected to be a sprint duel involving Exhilarate ridden by Aaron Chatrie and Mr Universe (Raddesh Roman) did not materialise as Mr Universe was slowly out of his starting stall and never recovered after being set as the 1-5 favourite.
Exhilarate trained by Anthony Nunes then had an uncontested lead and was never in danger thereafter of being defeated.
Second was Zephyr (Reyan Lewis) with Lady Blue third.
The winning time posted by Exhilarate was a fast 58.3 seconds.
