KINGSTON, Jamaica - A field of 10 runners vies for top honours in a three-year-old and upwards Overnight Allowance call going 7 ½ furlongs (1,500m). That race will be competed for on Saturday (December 4) at Caymanas Park.
From the number one draw will exit Chinamax, who finished down the track in his last effort, ending in ninth place by 14 lengths behind Sparkle Diamond and I Am Fred on November 20. Chinamax’s chance of winning is remote.
I Am Fred finished 5 ½ lengths in second place behind Sparkle Diamond in a 7-furlong (1,400m) event on November 20. Then, I Am Fred was head of most of the runners in this line-up and based on that run, has an outstanding chance of winning.
Another Bullet is a shadow of his former self and has been struggling for some time now, and that should continue in this event.
Excessive Force fifth on last, finishing 7 ¼ lengths behind Sparkle Diamond and I Am Fred. Excessive Force was expected to do much better than that and could get closer come Saturday, especially if he can curb his habit of running wide at the bend.
Uncle Frank was a winner on last, his first win in a long while. That win by Uncle Frank was in high claiming, and stepping up again cannot be given the nod.
El Professor has no racing form to recommend him to win this one.
Big Big Daddy is a consistent runner who was 6 ½ lengths behind Sparkle Diamond and I Am Fred, while in third place. Big Big Daddy should run another enterprising race without winning.
Gambler based on the opposition, realistically has no winning chance.
Legality steps down from the class above to run at this level. Legality comes in this race with fairly good form, especially after finishing fifth in the Port Royal Sprint on November 13 over 6 furlongs, when he finished fifth by 4 ¾ lengths. Now going longer is right up the street of Legality, who has every chance of winning.
The final runner Supreme Soul, it can be safely said, has lost his way.
