KINGSTON, Jamaica – A crippling move three furlongs out by jockey Omar Walker atop the four-year-old imported bay colt Eroy was more than enough to earn a long-awaited victory.

Trained by Richard Azan, who was winning his first race in 2021, Walker as he likes to do, sat and watched as Victory Turn (Javaniel Patterson) blazed hot fractions of 22.4 x 45.3. Then Eroy emerged with a burst from a bunch of horses behind Victory Turn and took the bull by the horn.

In the straight, it was a matter of who would be second and that position went to old stager Chace The Great (Shane Ellis) with the third slot occupied by Princess Emanuelle.
