KINGSTON, Jamaica – England’s Rose did justice to the legacy of George HoSang, the man regarded as the best local to sit in a saddle, with a dominant performance to win this year’s renewal of the George HoSang Trophy which was the Caymanas Sunday last race.
With Anthony Thomas doing the riding honours for trainer Wayne DaCosta, England’s Rose set off as always in front when the gates opened but this time was quickly challenged by Sea Swan, Crytocurrency and Victory Turn.
Those challenges did not last for long as Thomas took over with three furlongs to go and entered the straight with the lead as Sea Swan got a clear run on the inside rails as the only close rival.
England’s Rose began to swerve with a furlong left but once Thomas straightened out the filly she found extra to win by five lengths.
Cryptocurrency was second and Chace The Great third.
