KINGSTON, Jamaica – Despite expressing satisfaction with the initial surge of the 2024 racing season, the renowned trainer Gary Subratie emphasizes that the journey has merely begun at his racing stables.

Subratie's 2024 track record boasts two victories, two runners-up, and a trio of third-place finishes. One of his triumphant strides to the winner's circle was courtesy of his esteemed racer, Atomica, who clinched the Ian Levy Trophy.

With accumulated earnings of $3,492,100, Subratie currently commands the trainers' championship leaderboard. He stands ahead of the incumbent champion Jason DaCosta, while the former titleholder Anthony Nunes trails in the third position.

Subratie relishes the early victories in the new season, stating, "The toil at the stables is relentless, an unending cycle. There's still a vast expanse of work ahead as we brace ourselves for a fresh series of Classic races for which the three-year-olds have to be prepared."

He elaborated on the challenges faced in the previous year, "Many of my horses were absent from the two-year-old races last year, as they were not yet primed for the run. Our three-year-olds play a pivotal role in the stable's progress, and we have racers, such as Atomica, Sistren Treasure, Desert of Malibu, D Head Cornerstone, awaiting their respective racing obligations."

Subratie concludes by acknowledging the journey ahead, "There's a long road in front of us, filled with potential victories and setbacks. I welcome this early success with open arms, while meticulously strategizing for more triumphs," in his conversation with Quickgallopja.com.
