KINGSTON, Jamaica – Racing for the first occasion, Emperorofthecats had to dig deep like a seasoned racer to win on debut in a three-year-old maiden condition contest at four furlongs.
Owned, trained and bred by Carl Anderson, Emperorofthecats a three-year-old bay colt by Emperor Hall out of LawsoftheCat with the rarely used Bebeto Harvey aboard, was in the early hustle when the starter let them go along with the likes of Bugatti (Robert Halledeen), Berlino’s Choice (Tevin Foster) and Airstream (Oneil Mullings).
On the race track proper, Emperorofthecats increased the tempo when he took over on the front end. Berlino’s Choice provided the main challenge with the winner finding extra to win by a head.
Berlino’s Choice was second with Bugatti in the third slot.
