EMELIO 'BIMBO' RODRIQUEZ
Rest in Peace trainer Phillip Thompson/ groom/ assistant trainer to Phillip Feanny. My condolences to your family and friends. I remember when I just came in horse racing as a little boy you were one of the grooms who took care of me. I appreciate
everything that you taught me, I had a great career because of a wonderful teacher like you.
TRAINER COLIN BLAIR
Once a groom at Dennis Sasso then Dennis Lee where a horse named Zenobia he groomed readily comes to mind.
He then went to Philip Feanny and groomed a few before becoming an Assistant Trainer one on the long list for the Maestro (1st Wayne DaCosta, 2nd Colin Blair, 3rd Christopher Binns, 4th Albert Chong, 5th Philip Thompson, 6th Adin Williams, 7th Dwight Chen, 8th Spencer Chung and then two more - we all got a horse to saddle from the greatest trainer ever at Caymanas Park).
Philip Thompson had a few winners as a trainer and was very close to Trainer Patrick Fong. He went to Florida with his family for a while then returned to Jamaica where somehow he declined in all aspects including health.
The Opened Gates Show regrets the passing of another horseman and is asking all to pray for our Horsemen including those here in Jamaica as there are lot of us who are having serious health issues.
TRAINER JOHNNY WILMOT
Condolences to his family. Rest In Peace, trainer.

My condolences. Long-time trainer. The horsemen in the racing & breeding industries do not go to a job, they embrace a lifestyle. 24/7 365 mostly, early morning, late nights, rainy days, hot days & nights. All respect to every single horseman everywhere. Lots of time with little recognition nor renumeration, no wonder they have health issues in their later years.
