KINGSTON, Jamaica – The 2025 Mouttet Mile, set for Saturday, December 6, will see a significant change introduced by the promoting company. In its fourth staging, the prestigious race has allocated eight starting stalls for foreign-based competitors—double the number from its inaugural run. Among these, one spot has been specifically designated for a horse from the New York Racing Association.
In the first two editions of the Mouttet Mile, only four stalls were reserved for international entrants, increasing to six in the third staging. Now, with eight slots, the race continues to expand its global reach.
"We started with four, and now we're at eight," said Solomon Sharpe, Executive Chairman of Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited. "These horses will eventually become broodmares or stallions, contributing to our vision of strengthening the industry. The more horses we attract, the more our economy thrives, creating job opportunities and fostering industry growth."
The first confirmed entry for the 2025 Mouttet Mile is Barnaby, who secured his place by winning the Ian Levy Cup.
