KINGSTON, Jamaica – The 2025 Mouttet Mile, set for Saturday, December 6, will see a significant change introduced by the promoting company. In its fourth staging, the prestigious race has allocated eight starting stalls for foreign-based competitors—double the number from its inaugural run. Among these, one spot has been specifically designated for a horse from the New York Racing Association.

In the first two editions of the Mouttet Mile, only four stalls were reserved for international entrants, increasing to six in the third staging. Now, with eight slots, the race continues to expand its global reach.

"We started with four, and now we're at eight," said Solomon Sharpe, Executive Chairman of Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited. "These horses will eventually become broodmares or stallions, contributing to our vision of strengthening the industry. The more horses we attract, the more our economy thrives, creating job opportunities and fostering industry growth."

The first confirmed entry for the 2025 Mouttet Mile is Barnaby, who secured his place by winning the Ian Levy Cup.

  1. THE MILE as i call it will eventually be a international race as its concept is tweeked ,with eight spots secured for foreign entrants, and with a gate capacity of 16 runners, local breds will have to bring their A game to this prestigious event, its gonna generate a following of mass proportion just like musical events REGGAE SUMFEST or the original SUNSPLASH.personally i would like to see pomp and pagentry brought back as MR.AZAR opined in his acceptance speech as the TOBA president.three cheers for THE MILE.

  2. as i look fpward to the 2025 MOUTTE MILE i envision a star studded field geared for battle in this prestigious event.i have not seen TRINIDAD or BARBADOS or even PUERTO RICO having a entry for this year,MR CHRITON is the only one so far brining in horses to sweeten the pot so to speak. I know quality horses are not cheap to import into the island, who knows if other connections are formulating plans to do the same, more carribean imput is needed to bolster the region in this endeauvour, lets see the leading riders of the antilles in their full glory come december on MILE DAY.
