KINGSTON, Jamaica - The second race on Saturday, February 15, 2025, is a maiden condition call for three-year-olds.
Seven horses, including four first-timers, are entered to contest going five furlongs round.
The Quick Galloper’s take on the possible outcome is published below.
1 - EASY MONEY is a chestnut colt (March 29) by Sunshine N Shadow out of Midnight In Paris, trained by Anthony Nunes with Shane Ellis in the saddle. Morning exercise reports indicate that this newcomer is ready to race. Hailing from trainer Nunes's camp, known for his many successes with three-year-olds, the choice of Shane Ellis suggests that Easy Money will be a formidable competitor.
2 - BROMPTON BOY is a bay colt (April 10) by Casual Trick out of Eye Candy, trained by Anthony Nunes with Reyan Lewis riding. Also from the renowned Nunes stable, Brompton Boy has shown good movement during morning exercises, and a good opening effort is anticipated.
3 - NEVER DESPAIR is a bay colt (January 14) by Bold Conquest out of Crafty Lady, trained by Peter-John Parsard, with Dane Dawkins onboard. This colt has caught the attention of morning observers during preparations for his debut. Never Despair is expected to be a significant contender.
4 - NATIVE FLYER is a bay filly (March 25) by Successful Native out of Polly Flyer, trained by Steven Todd, with Phillip Parchment as the jockey. She has raced three times but has shown no signs that victory is imminent.
5 - MODERN MONARCH is a bay colt (January 30) by Casual Trick out of Revolving, trained by Patrick Lynch, with Romane Gordon as the rider. In his two previous outings, Modern Monarch has not yet suggested that success is near.
6 - LIFE IS LIGHT is a chestnut filly (February 10) by Hedge Fund out of Necromancer, trained by Gary Griffiths, with Chris Mamdeen riding. Life Is Light will race with first-time Lasix, but still has much to learn after only one start.
7 - BRAHMA BULL is a chestnut colt (March 6) by Sunshine N Shadow out of Esperanza, trained by Anthony Nunes, with Tevin Foster in the saddle. As the third entry from the Nunes barn, Brahma Bull has been training well; however, reports suggest he may be overshadowed by at least one of his stablemates.
