KINGSTON, Jamaica – On Wednesday, February 14, 2024, the standout race is the Ash Wednesday Trophy, a 6 ½ furlong Overnight Allowance race featuring 14 contenders.

– TAURUS BOY is a long-standing Overnight Allowance competitor who has yet to make a significant impact. In this challenging field, his chances of victory are slim.

– SHE’S MY FRIEND has taken 38 starts to ascend to this level. In this her initial Overnight Allowance race, she's not considered a serious contender.

– DUKE, a seasoned competitor with a history of performing well against superior horses, stands a strong chance with top jockey Raddesh Roman onboard. Back Duke for a win and in the exacta bets.

– POWER is still adjusting to the Overnight grade and requires much more time to develop.

– RAMBLING ROSE, after only 12 starts, has advanced to Overnight Allowance. Though commendable, she isn't expected to triumph in this event.

– TEKAPUNT, a proven Overnight campaigner, comes back from a break in top form. This five-year-old bay gelding is well-matched for this race, poised to challenge the leaders and make a decisive move in the final stretch.

– LABAN placed third in his last two races. The 6 ½ furlong distance suits him, and his consistent performances can may lead to his tenth win in 50 starts.

– MILOS, with only 13 races and four wins, has advanced to Overnight Allowance. His last race saw him finish second in top claiming over the same distance. Cannot, therefore, be given even an outsider’s chance of winning.

– FREEDOM STREET is a versatile competitor, capable of leading or tracking before launching an attack. Returning to Overnight after competing at higher levels, he's well-rested and ready for his sixth win. Consider him for win, exacta, and trifecta bets.

– UNRULY DUDE makes his first foray into this level and isn't expected to be a factor.

– GILBERT faces long odds moving from claiming to Overnight.

– MONEY MONSTER is coming off a 191-day hiatus since his last race on August 7, 2023, and will likely need this run to regain form.

– GREEN GOLD RUSH consistently performs well in Overnight Allowance. The outside post position in this 14-horse lineup, coupled with a suitable distance, makes him a strong contender.
