Curlin’s Affair, One Don the main dangers
KINGSTON, Jamaica - Though the Mercury Sprint is listed as the main feature on the nine-card on Sunday (February 6), the three-year-old and upwards Non-Restricted Overnight Allowance should also draw some attention as 10 runners are down to compete over 7 furlongs.
Below is the analysis of the runners.
- LEGALITY (USA): (6 dkb h by Uncaptured - Tracey's Legacy) - Good sort who always gives of his best in these races. Legality should find these runners manageable and could be bang into contention.
- MONEY MONSTER: (5 b g by Casual Trick - She's Traditional) - Capable and very consistent runner who is going to enjoy this trip. Money Monster has the class and talent to win here.
- LET HIM FLY: (5 b c by Western Classic - Little Thunder) – Was an easy 2 ¾ length winner on a $1 million claiming tag on January 29, 2022, at 7 furlongs. Let Him Fly, though fit, and in his prime at the moment steps up to compete and is going to find difficult.
- CRAFTY AND READY (USA): (5 dkb h by More Than Ready - Win Crafty) - Seems to prefer the shorter distances and may find this distance too taxing. With that in mind, Crafty and Ready is going to be left behind and thus, cannot get the nod. any votes where winning is concerned.
- CURLIN'S AFFAIR: (4 ch c by Perfect Curlin - Nuclear Affair) - Did extremely well to reach this level. Curlin's Affair is of ability and is finally showing his true worth. Yet, with this being his Curlin’s Affair first run in Overnight he might learn from the experience against some seasoned horses. Expected to run well for a minor share inclusive of second place.
- INSPIRED MIRACLE: (6 by g by Miracle Man – Lady Madras) – Has no chance of winning.
- CRIMSON: (6 b g by Nuclear Wayne – Sarah Barracuda) – Based on past performances, Crimson is better than his rivals. Crimson makes his seasonal debut here and should find these holding few terrors could open his 2022 account with a win. Plus, he is coming down in grade, with his only possible obstacle being the distance, which might be a tad short for him.
- ONE DON (USA): (4 ch c by Chitu – Shezacrazygirl) – Third behind Secret Identity and Go Deh Girl at 5 ½ furlongs on Sunday. One Don should be better at this distance and from a level break, is a danger to all.
- GAMBLER: (5 b m by Freedom for Jante – Kennisha) – Faces tough competition and should be hard-pressed to land a blow.
- FEARLESS CHAMPION: (5 rn c by Fearless Vision - Granville Greta) - Needs more time at this level. Fearless Champion's best hope is for a minor placing.
