KINGSTON, Jamaica – Mahogany set the cats among the pigeons at Caymanas Park moments ago in the fourth of nine races with an electrifying run in a two-year-old maiden contest run over 5 ½ furlongs.

Mahogany shot out of the starting gates and was never challenged throughout, winning in a time of 1:04.3, which is the fastest time done over today’s distance by a two-year-old this season. The recorded splits were 23.3 x 45.2.

Mahogany, a three-year-old chestnut gelding by Sensational Slam - Mete-orite was ridden by Dane Dawkins and is trained by Ian Parsard.

The chestnut gelding provided Dawkins with his second winner on the day after piloting Blu Attitude to victory in the third race.

In his post-race interview trainer Parsard indicated that the change of equipment with the blinkers on, and the tongue tie and figure 8 taken off made the difference for his charge.

The winning margin was 13 lengths.
