KINGSTON, Jamaica – Imported four-year-old chestnut filly Double Diva romped to her third consecutive victory in the Easter Monday (April 18) second at Caymanas Park.
Double Diva with champion Anthony Thomas in the saddle for trainer Jason DaCosta achieved her hat-trick of wins in a three-year-old and upwards (non-three) for imported horses and a non-four for local bred thoroughbreds at seven furlongs.
Thomas was a mere passenger atop Double Diva from the time the gates opened as after staying close to True Al Sky (Dick Cardenas), for about the first three furlongs, Double Diva went on her way and was never asked to do more than required to win by 7 ¾ lengths in a time of 1:25.3.
Second by a neck was True Al Sky with Sweet Majesty (Paul Francis) third.
The win by Thomas was his seventh thus far over the three-day Easter Carnival.
