KINGSTON, Jamaica – The fifth event of nine on the Saturday card of May 10, 2025, is for three-year-old maidens.

Ten are entered in this five-furlong straight contest.

The Quick Galloper’s assessment of the possible outcome is provided below for the perusal of readers on this website.

1 – MODERN MONARCH

Bay colt (January 30) by Casual Trick out of Revolving Beauty. Trained by Patrick Lynch, ridden by Tenecia Wolfe. Races with tongue tie on and figure eight off. Has competed nine times without showing significant improvement. Previous performances suggest he is unlikely to be a factor in the outcome.

2 – BADGAL CALEESI

Bay filly (January 19) by Buzz Nightmare out of Turbinia. Trained by Welsh Soutar, ridden by Tyrese Anderson. Races with blinkers on. Continues to struggle in finding competitive form. Needs to show improvement to be considered a serious contender.

3 – NATIVE FLYER

Bay filly (March 25) by Successful Native out of Polly Flyer. Trained by Steven Todd, ridden by Phillip Parchment. Races with blinkers off and visor on. Showed early speed in her last outing over four furlongs but faded in the latter stages. Has demonstrated ability over the straight course but is disadvantaged by the draw. Could be useful for exotic bets such as the exacta and the quinella.

4 – MIRACLE SELECTION

Bay colt (March 9) by Midnight Hawk out of Sparkling Michaela. Trained by Lincoln Lungs, ridden by Jaheim Anderson. Has raced multiple times without producing competitive performances. Based on past results, he is unlikely to be a factor in this event.

5 – DON KWESI

Bay colt (April 13) by Sensational Slam out of Lookastmenow. Trained by Barrington Bernard, ridden by Richard Henry. Disqualified on debut (April 27) over the straight course. Despite moving up in the weight scale, he is expected to improve.

6 – DUTCHESS

Bay filly (April 9) by Casual Trick out of Curlin’s Macbeth. Trained by Anthony Nunes, ridden by Omar Walker. Finished third in her debut race, showing promise. However, she was listed as injured in her second outing and did not factor into the race. Needs another opportunity to prove her ability.

7 – PRINCE KAZAIRE

Dark brown colt (May 5) by Sensational Slam out of Maggie’s Way. Trained by Adrian Prince, ridden by Demar Williams. Has shown inconsistency in recent performances, alternating between competitive and lacklustre efforts. Comes from a stable with strong recent form, and if he delivers his best, he has a good chance of securing a win.

8 – EARMARK BLITZ

Bay colt (March 17) by Wannabeaplayer out of Venusinbluejeans. Trained by Phillip Lee, ridden by Raddesh Roman. Has not demonstrated winning potential but could manage a minor placing. Best suited for lower-tier bets.

9 – JUKE BOX

Bay colt (June 5) by Wow Wow out of City Flight. Trained by Gordon Lewis, ridden by Chalrick Budhai. Making his debut and expected to use this race as a learning experience. Likely to need time to develop into a competitive runner.

10 – NUCLEAR JET

Chestnut colt (June 11) by Bern Identity out of Nuclear Force. Trained by Byron Davis, ridden by Richie Shakes. Another first-time runner who will be gaining experience. Not expected to be a factor in the outcome but could show potential for future races.a
