KINGSTON, Jamaica - The sixth race on Saturday, May 31, is designated for three-year-old maidens, with ten contenders set to compete over a distance of six and a half furlongs.

Below is The Quick Galloper’s assessment of the possible outcome.

– ALIVE: A chestnut colt (January 4) by Bold Conquest out of Princess Astrid, trained by Jason DaCosta with Reyan Lewis aboard. With two races under his belt, Alive has demonstrated progress each time. However, his experience thus far has been limited to shorter distances, transitioning now from four furlongs to 6 ½ furlongs. Caution is advised, though he remains a strong contender for exotic wagers such as the exacta and trifecta.

– NEWSPAPEROFRECORD: A bay filly (April 6) by Storm Craft out of Jah Love, trained by Errol Burke with Anthony Allen at the reins. Racing with first-time Lasix, this filly has not yet shown the necessary signs of a breakthrough victory in her two previous outings.

– CUTOUT: A bay filly (March 1) by Wannabeaplayer out of What’s Your Story, trained by Raymond Townsend with Romane Gordon riding. Making her debut, Cutout has displayed positive movement during morning workouts. She stands to benefit from this race day experience and should improve over time.

– RUNAWAY BAY: A bay colt (May 24) by Patton Proud out of Niseel, trained by David Lee Sin with Romario Spencer aboard. Having raced twice with no notable performance, he is not expected to contend for the top positions.

– HUMILITY: A chestnut colt (April 21) by Perfect Curlin out of Nuclear Flight, trained by Dalton Sirjue with Roderick DaCosta as the jockey. Still gaining experience, this colt’s best prospect is securing a minor share of the purse.

– NUCLEAR JET: A chestnut colt (June 11) by Bern Identity out of Nuclear Force, trained by Enos Brown with Dane Dawkins aboard. Racing with blinkers off and a tongue tie on, Nuclear Jet performed respectably on debut, finishing fifth, 5 ½ lengths behind the winner. With expected improvement, he could secure a place on the board.

– ALTHIA: An imported in utero bay filly (February 12) by Fort Loudan out of Truth Is Truth, trained by Gordon Lewis with Shane Richardson riding. The most experienced competitor with ten starts to her name, Althia favours this distance and her accumulated race experience makes her a serious contender.

– SECRET SENSATION: A chestnut colt (April 16) by Sensational Slam out of Secret Cat, trained by Carl Anderson with Clive Lynch aboard. Racing without a tongue tie, this colt is a viable candidate for a top-four finish but not expected to challenge for the win.

– MONEY MISSION: A bay filly (January 22) by Casual Trick out of Daisy Duke, trained by Oral Hayden with Raddesh Roman aboard. Running with blinkers off and a visor on, Money Mission has yet to show winning potential despite nine previous starts.

– DON KWESI: A bay colt (April 13) by Sensational Slam out of Lookatmenow, trained by Barrington Bernard with Phillip Parchment riding. Racing with blinkers and a tongue tie, along with first-time Lasix. He was disqualified after crossing the line first on debut and followed up with a close runner-up finish. With multiple equipment changes in place, he enters as the post-race favourite.
