KINGSTON, Jamaica – The inaugural Mr Sensational Trophy has attracted six starters and is set as the fourth of ten races on Saturday, November 25, 2023.
The event features two-year-olds competing over a distance of seven furlongs.
Below is The Quick Galloper's assessment of the six entrants in draw order:
1 – FASTNFURIOUSLINKS is a roan filly (February 18) by Casual Trick out of Another Fury, trained by Jason DaCosta with Javaniel Patterson as the jockey. She claimed her first victory on November 11 through a hard-fought effort over six furlongs. She has a strong chance of reaching the top three.
2 – HIMAYA is a roan filly (March 23) by Casual Trick out of Raksha, trained by Jason DaCosta with Oneil Scott aboard. Himaya has become the certified filler among the juveniles. With only six starters, she will earn. Note that Himaya races with first-time Lasix.
3 – DIGITAL ONE is a bay filly (USA February 14) by Uncle Lino out of Legal Redemption, trained by Jason DaCosta with Reyan Lewis aboard. As the sole winner this season in two juvenile races, Digital One impressed with victories at 5½ furlongs and six furlongs. Her third win is imminent.
4 – RUN JULIE RUN is a grey filly (May 6) by Successful Native out of Runaway Julie, trained by Ian Parsard with Omar Walker as jockey. Was easily handled by Digital One on October 28, losing by 5 ¼ lengths at six furlongs. A good bet for the exacta.
5 – LUCY IN THE SKY is a bay filly (March 23) by Liquidity out of Tap A Bay Yankee, trained by Jason DaCosta with Roger Hewitt aboard. With one win from four starts, she will likely have to wait for another opportunity to claim her second victory.
6 – COMEHOMETOME is a bay filly (January 29) by Northern Giant out of Heart of Gold, trained by Jason DaCosta with Robert Halledeen as jockey. After a convincing win on October 29, Comehometome steps up from 5½ furlongs to seven—a challenge she may find difficult. Note that Comehometome races with a tongue tie and first-time Lasix.
