KINGSTON, Jamaica – With the upsetters showing the way over the last two race days, it was little wonder that the Sunday card was closed (ninth race) by 17-1 chance Devonte (Tevin Foster) for champion trainer Anthony Nunes.
The ninth, which was the final contest over the weekend of racing was a three-year-old maiden offering at six furlongs.
Racing for the eleventh occasion, Devonte with Tevin Foster holding the reins, kept close to the leader Dujour (Anthony Thomas), with Legal Bid (Reyan Lewis) and Wowtastic (Shane Ellis) tracking.
Turning for home, Dujour fell behind as Devonte and Legal Bid engaged in a private battle. Legal Bid gained the initiative but Foster dug deep to get Devonte home by a neck.
Legal Bid was second with Wowtastic third.
