KINGSTON, Jamaica – After being in the cold for years, veteran jockey Devon A Thomas has suddenly emerged rejuvenated riding winner after winner.
Thomas today guided the Errol Subratie conditioned Sir Arjun Babu to victory in the fifth of 10 races on the Sunday (November 29) offering at Caymanas Park just moments ago. The event was a $250,000 - $200,000 claimer for three-year-olds and upwards travelling 6 ½ furlongs.
Thomas brought Sir Arjun Babu from the wide number 16 draw to vie for the lead with Original Train.
After sparring for about three furlongs, the two leaders entered the straight at which time Sir Arjun Babu moved away to score by 3 ½.
After a poor start Golden Emperor (Harriston Lewis) got second with Original Train third.
This was the second winner on the day for Subratie.
