KINGSTON, Jamaica – A well plotted and determined ride by apprentice Samantha Fletcher was the main factor in the win by the Philip Feanny trained Sebastian in today’s (October 21) third race.
The Restricted Allowance 111 contest for three-year-olds run over 9 furlongs and 25 yards saw Roy Rogers setting off in front followed by Earn Your Stripes (Shane Ellis) with Sebastian well behind in third.
Roy Rogers stretched his lead leaving the half-mile marker and it was a case of catch me if you can when the leader entered the last two furlongs as Sebastian started to motor.
Splitting between Roy Rogers on the inside rails and Earn Your Stripes on the outside, Fletcher timed her charge to perfection and although Earn Your Stripes rallied in the last half-a-furlong Sebastian was not for catching.
Earn Your Stripes was second with Tricky One third.
This was the eighth win on the season by Fletcher.
The winning time was 1:54.2.
