KINGSTON, Jamaica – The eighth race of ten on the card of Saturday, January 13, 2024, is a three-year-old and up Open Allowance going six furlongs.

Seven horses have been entered to compete, with The Quick Galloper assessment given below for the benefit of readers on Quickgallopja.com.

This assessment is done in draw order.

1 – PRESS CONFERENCE has been a credit to his connections, doing exceptionally well to reach the status of Open Allowance on December 26, 2023. Press Conference, who has made lofty strides, faces formidable foes for his first encounter in Open Allowance. He will have to wait.

2 – SISTREN TREASURE thankfully has regained lost form. This filly is better at the longer distances. Sistren Treasure can only hope for a minor share.

3 – MADELYN’S SUNSHINE is a known speedster, whose has been put in her place by both Desert of Malibu and Emperorofthecats. The handicaps against these two rivals do not favour Madelyn’s Sunshine, and as such her chance of winning is slim.

4 – EMPEROROFTHECATS is seeking his fourth win in succession having ploughed through the grades with relative ease. He is currently in the pink of form, in addition to his ability of being able to stay of the pace, he is a real, and present danger.

5 – LUKSOL can be ruled out.

6 – DESERT OF MALIBU was disqualified after passing the post as the winner of the Bruceontheloose Trophy on December 2, 2023. This was her only loss in five starts. Desert of Malibu is packed with immense class, with the ability of running as she likes. In this one, she will probably be kept just a nod or two off the leader, ready to strike whenever she likes.

7 – FREEDOM STREET has been a model of consistency in recent times. Best option is to earn from a place on the board.
