Desert Of Malibu April 13 Disqualification Revoked

APPEAL – TRAINER GARY SUBRATIE vs. STEWARDS’ DECISION

On Thursday 18^th July, 2024, the Jamaica Racing Commission heard an appeal submitted by Trainer Gary Subratie against the Stewards’ decision which was handed down on Saturday 13^th April 2024 to disqualify his horse DESERT OF MALIBU from the 7^th race.  Horse No. 6 DESERT OF MALIBU who was first passed the post was disqualified and placed third for intimidation and interference caused to horse No. 5 MAHOGANY leaving the final 100-metre point of the race.

After carefully reviewing the film of the race and submissions made by
Mr. Robert Dabdoub, and the Jamaica Racing Commission’s Operations Steward, the Commission upheld the appeal and the decision was reversed. Therefore, the placings of the race were reverted to the original finish and is as follows: -

1^st DESERT OF MALIBU

2^nd A GIFT FROM BEN

3^rd MAHOGANY

4^th BIG BIG DADDY
