RACE TYPE: Three-year-olds and upwards non-Restricted Overnight Allowance
RACE DISTANCE: 8 ½ furlongs
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Double Crown, much thought of during his three-year-old year but never delivered, not at four years gave another hint of his possible potential with a smashing win at the Overnight Allowance level – the first time of asking.
With Dane Dawkins in the saddle for conditioner Ian Parsard, Double Crown who was skipping a class to compete in this grouping, surprisingly went to challenge Another Affair (Anthony Thomas) for the lead when the starter pressed the button to open the gates.
In fact, the two (Double Crown and Another Affair) went clear of the rest and made it a two-horse race.
When they came into the straight, Another Affair on the outside took went in front but that effort was not for long as Dawkins with a persevering ride rallied Double Crown who found extra to move forward and was over three lengths better when the winning post was reached.
Third went to Messi (Devon A Thomas).
The winning time was 1:45.3.
