Dead heat in sixth – Fiery Path and Fortuneonehundred

KINGSTON, Jamaica – After a ding dong battle in the straight Fiery Path (Omar Simpson) and Fortuneonehundred (Prince Holder) could not be separated by racing officials and as a result dead-heated for first place in the sixth of 10 races on a sloppy racetrack at Caymanas Park.

It was the speedy Fortuneonehundred (15-1) racing for the 63rd time in his long career who went off in front in the $250,000 -$200,000 claiming event contested for over six furlongs.

At this stage of the race, Simpson was waiting in fourth place with Fiery Path who started at odds of 12-1.

In the stretch drive both horses were locked together with both riders pushing as hard as they can.

In the end, the photo finish camera displayed a clear dead heat.

Fiery Path gave his rider, Omar Simpson his first winner for the year and the fourth for his trainer Raymond Townsend.

Fortuneonehundred in achieving his 20th career victory gave his trainer Adin Williams his fourth for the season.
