KINGSTON, Jamaica – The sixth race on the Saturday program of March 4, 2023, continues on the road to the Classic races.
This sixth race to be contested at six furlongs, has attracted 12 starters.
The Quick Galloper’s assessment is done in post-position order.
– DE LYE LA is a bay filly (February 25) by Bern Identity out of Along trained by Ian Parsard with Dane Dawkins aboard. Did not deliver on expectations in her two outings to date. De Lye La has continued to progress in the mornings with redemption expected on Saturday over what can be considered to be an ideal trip at this time in her career. Note, De Lye La races with the blinkers off and the cheek pieces on.
- ABILITY is a bay colt (April 23) by Lion Tamer out of Disability Charm trained by Patrick Lynch with Samantha Fletcher aboard. Reports from the exercise watchers are suggesting that this first-timer is of some ability. Given a chance of hitting the board.
– TOKILLAMOCKINGBIRD is a bay colt (March 6) by Lion Tamer out of Newton’s First Law trained by Marlon Anderson with Trevor Simpson atop. With four starts under his belt, Tokillamockingbird has yet to show anything of worth.
– HOME ALONE is a bay colt (May 21) by Soul Warrior out of Nuclear Princess trained by Colin Ferguson with Christopher Mamdeen in the saddle. A newcomer who is coming along, and with time will progress.
– LIFE IS LIFE is a bay colt (February 18) by Natural Selection out of Little Wasp trained by Jason DaCosta with Oshane Nugent aboard. Has not raced in 104 days. Life Is Life has not had any encouraging spins in the mornings, and will therefore need time to get his act together.
– MO AVIATOR is a bay colt (April 26) by Northern Giant out of Black Magic trained by Jason DaCosta with Reyan Lewis aboard. Showed a semblance of getting into form when finishing third on February 22 behind Curlin’s Noon And Roaring Thunder at 6 ½ furlongs. Then Mo Aviator raced with the early pace, before losing ground in the final furlong. The reduction in the distance on Saturday suits Mo Aviator.
– ANTARCTICA is a bay colt (April 29) by Savoy Stomp out of Jesse’s Favourite trained by Alford Brown with Anthony Thomas in the saddle. Did well on debut (February 18 – 5 furlongs round), finishing sixth by five lengths behind the winner. The change of rider from Oshane Nugent to Anthony Thomas is of significance.
– EAZY PEAZY is a bay colt (February 22) by Casual Trick out of Baby P trained by Richard Azan with Tevin Foster aboard. Still needs time.
– TRU IDENTITY is a bay filly (May 31) by Bern Identity out of Quiet Grandeur trained by Roy Matthews with Omar Walker aboard. Trying to find her way.
– ITS PLUMMY is a grey filly (April 25) by Speith out of Milestone trained by Delroy Spencer with Phillip Parchment in the saddle. Not ready as yet.
– COSMIC FORCE is a bay colt by Savoy Stomp out Kipling Weekend trained by Philip Feanny with Shane Richardson aboard. Getting better and better with each run. On Saturday, Cosmic Force comes up against weaker opposition, which should aid his chances of getting off the mark.
– MODERN MIRACLE is a chestnut colt (January 2) by Hedge Fund out of Sound of Miracle trained by Anthony Nunes with Linton Steadman in the saddle. Has been consistent in his six efforts to date. This is the shortest distance Modern Miracle will compete in his six starts to date. Note, Modern Miracle races with the visor off, and the blinkers on.
